Our Level 3 Girls Team starts their competitive career with 4 in-house meets a year. This gives these young gymnasts a chance to experience the competitive world of gymnastics without having to incur many of the expenses that go along with being a part of a traveling team.
Level 4 and 5 are what we call compulsory levels. This means that every Level 4 and 5 gymnast in the US that are USA Gymnastics athlete members learn and perform the same routines. BGS Gymnasts at these levels can qualify for the State Championships.
Once gymnasts have achieved the necessary skill base, and rise to Level 6-10, they are considered optional gymnasts. Athletes at these levels have individual routines choreographed specifically for them. These routines must include certain special requirements but each routine is constructed to personify the attributes of the individual.
Boys competing at these levels perform the same compulsory routines as all other USA Gymnastics members across the nation. Boys at this Level will compete at the State Championships and have the opportunity to qualify to the Regional Championships.
Once a boy has worked his way through the ranks and finds himself at Level 7-10, he will perform unique routines. These routines will have to satisfy certain requirements but can be constructed for individual strengths. Level 7-8 Boys compete at the State Championships, and have a chance to qualify to the Regional Championships. Level 9-10 athletes will compete at the State Championships, can qualify to the Regional Championships and have a chance to qualify to Nationals.
